What were some of the stylistic elements you identified in your text? The main stylistic element that was used in my text was the story telling of his past and what he strives to do further in life. This appealed to me and made me feel connected in a way I should help the South African people.
What effect do they have on the story presented? Nelson Mandela Changed the view's of many people, he fought for equality for blacks during the period of apartheid. He changed the way people thought and acted and he proved the point that everyone should be treated equally. By using his own past and struggles of being a black South African, it appeals to many people by knowing how hard it was for him and that something needs to be fought for.
What effect did they have on you? It had a huge impact on me not only just feeling for Nelson Mandela but also other South Africans. It mad me feel as though it was us to blame for the problems they have been faced with.
What kinds of organisational features were used in your text? The text included subheading's, pictures of Nelson's Past and close family members, a detailed index and in depth chapters about the struggles and major issues he was faed with and how he proved to everyone he could overcome these challenges.
What effect do they have on your chosen text? To me the one organisational feature that had the most effect was the pictures. It was harder to picture how unfair they treated people with a different skin appearance but to actually see photos really showed that what was happening was wrong and how unfair it was to those who had no choice in what colour their skin colour was.

What kinds of issues were presented in the text? The main issues that were presented in The Long Walk To Freedom were social inequality, fighting for justice, human rights, freedom and human sacrifice.
What did the author have to say about them? Use examples from the text. Nelson Mandela said " No one truly knows a nation until one has been inside it's jail. A nation should not be judged by how it treats it's highest citizens but by it's lowest citizens".
How does the tone and language used by the author position you in regard to the issues presented? By reading The Long Walk To Freedom, it told me that Nelson Mandela was extremely passionate about all of these issues. The tone used was serious, concerned and in some chapters loving. The language used was very personal and inspiring.
What do you think about these issues? The issues that Nelson Mandela fought for I believed shocked me. Not because he was fighting for these issues because they defiantly needed to be fought for but because the problem's faced by many black South Africans and how society treated people that were seen as "different".
Would you recommend this book to other people? I would defiantly recommend this book to people. It has given me a much more clear vision as to what Nelson Mandela fought for and the issues he strived to changed but not only that it was also about the challenges he had to overcome due to his skin colour, so i would defiantly recommend it.
